  SEE YOU LATER by Steven Skelley SEE YOU LATER is a song I composed because of wonderful memories from my maternal grandmother. She never used the phrase goodbye. She always said see-you-later. If I made the mistake of saying "Goodbye, Grandma," she would always remind me, "This is not goodbye. It's just another see you later." When she passed on from this life, I was comforted in knowing the wisdom of her words: this wasn't goodbye. It was just another see-you-later. Hugs, Steven

  CHOOSE ME is a song I composed about the feeling of wanting to fit in. It took me decades of growing up to realize that the only one I need to "choose me" is me. As a grown man now, I'm no more like a bough blown in the breeze. No more do I bleed from a painful need to constantly please. I am now at peace. I've made my mind cease to want to fit it.   Education Ruins A Slave (with lyrics) by Steven Skelley. EDUCATION RUINS A SLAVE is a very important song to me. I composed it to honor Frederick Douglass and to share his timeless message. Frederick Douglass was born into slavery. He was separated from his mother and put to work at the age of six. Through this horrid reality, he realized that education was the key to freedom - physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. He escaped from slavery and used his epiphany to fight against the disgusting American legality of owning humans. When I read Douglass' words, "education ruins a slave," it sparked within me the words, "because freedom rides the road that knowledge paves, understanding comes unlocking chains." Hugs, Steven

  I START TO SMILE is a song I composed about someone who changed my life. I think we all know someone who magically appeared in our life journey at just the right time. I have several.
